3. Chemical solvents such as toluene, benzene, propane, and those found in glue and paint. More than 20% of eighth graders have used such inhalants. (See Chapter 6)

4. Alcohol. Many deaths are caused by alcohol overdose. There's little danger of LSD overdose unless it's combined with or contaminated by other drugs. (See Chapter 1)

5. Marijuana is used by far more people than any other illegal drug: 77% of all illegal drug users use marijuana, and almost 5% of the population used marijuana in the last month. (See Chapter 7)
