Daniel van Steenberghe, MD, DDS, PhD, is a former president of the International Association of Dental Research, the Belgian Society of Periodontology, the International Society of Breath Odor Research, and the Dutch Society of Oral Biology. Professor van Steenberghe is Associate Editor of several prestigious journals (Clinical Oral Implants Reseach, Clinical Oral Investigations, and Journal of Oral Rehabilitation) and is a former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Head & Neck Pathology.

Professor van Steenberghe has authored more than 250 full papers in international refereed journals and has written nine published books. He is currently a full professor at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
